Additionally I did find a Huffington Post interview that gives further insight to his douchiness.  You can read the entire interview HERE but I’m going to pull out my favorite bits.

The interviewer previously asked a question about Jonah’s success after Superbad.  Jonah responded about maturing as an actor in his late 20s…blah, blah, blah.  Then the interviewer dropped this (her questions in bold):

It’s very cool, otherwise you could be stuck in those movies being boy-man forever.

(Silence)

Right?

Yeah, your words not mine. I’ve said what I feel. (Laughs) I love how reporters try to get you to say what they’re feeling. I’m very meticulous with my words. I say exactly what I mean and you want me to say what you mean.

Then there is a portion at the end of the interview where they talk about Jonah living with his parents while his home is being renovated:

Right, that’s what it’s like being an adult with parents, I guess.

Great, that’s what you’re going to write about.

No! I just transcribe my interviews. The part where you diss me, which I love, will be in there. Believe me, if I’m a dick, it’s in there. I have no shame.

You’re not a dick. I’ve done enough of these now where I can understand what someone wants me to say and what their angle is in an interview. It’s so rare where you just get to be yourself and that gets printed.

Well this will be. And believe me, the comments will be that I’m a douche bag.

(Laughs) You’re not a douche bag. You seem really nice. I just feel in some of these interviews they try to push you to be somebody you’re not.

SERIOUSLY?!  What the eff is wrong with this kid.  What a nozzle… He’s obviously one of these control freaks that gets pissy if an interview doesn’t go in the exact path he wants it to.  Lighten up!  He talks about interviewers trying to make him something that he’s not.  Guess what…you’ve done that on your own.  You gave everyone the impression from your choice in movies that you’re a funny, approachable guy.  Now we know better.  His costar in Moneyball, Brad Pitt, has better comedic sense in interviews and doesn’t take himself as seriously.  Sorry Jonah…you’re not SO GOOD that you can act like such a pretentious a-hole.

You’re labeled as a comedian…deal with it, embrace it, love it.  Comedians that take themselves too seriously are like gynecologists that keep checking the wrong hole…useless, irritating, and soon to find themselves out of work (not that I would know personally…but I can imagine).  Nothing will cause me to boycott an actor’s work quicker than this type of attitude.  This is one of the reasons I refuse to watch Sean Penn movies.  He’s another douche that takes himself too seriously and assumes everyone actually gives a rat’s ass about his political views.

You’re paid quite well to entertain me…so leave your ego at the door and do it.

Sometimes designers simply have to force new features onto the users in the name of progress.  Let be honest, most people fear change.  People get use to something appearing and functioning in a certain way, but that does not breed innovation.  If designers worried too much about what EVERY user thought, web sites would still look like a canned Geocities sites.  I understand all of this, which is why I rarely comment on site redesigns.  But in this case I kind of agree with the mild uproar.  I can’t quite figure out what Facebook was trying to accomplish here.

Maybe I’m just getting too old and crotchy…but I feel like there is just too much going on.  It’s like it was designed by a group of rhesus monkeys with ADHD and a bad crystal/acid habit.  Some stuff is organized in a seemingly random fashion, some stuff scrolls, some stuff is hidden, every time I move my mouse somewhere something magically pops up and blocks a portion of the page.

This seems to be a trend lately, and it’s not just with Facebook. Sites redesigned in such a fashion that they bombard you at every angle with “neat little tricks”.  It’s almost getting difficult to simply read the news at some sites.
A generation of kids raised playing first person shooter video games and shotgunning Red Bulls are now designing web sites.  That’s why I feel old…because I feel like I should be able to keep up with it.  Of course I usually get “pwned” by pre-teens any time I play those games anymore so that might explain a lot.

But you know what will happen? Nothing… People will complain but then adapt.  Then in another year FB will implement another redesign and people will complain then adapt.

Unfortunately I’m pretty lazy, so it’s quite possible things may not get updated for a while.  So patience my little dushes…all will be revealed in time.
